Trihydro Selected to Present Greenhouse Gas Management Workshop at the 2007 NPRA Annual Conference
(LARAMIE, WYOMING)---Trihydro was recently selected to present a workshop on Greenhouse Gases within the refining industry at the National Petroleum and Refinery Association (NPRA) Annual Conference in Austin, Texas on September 23, 2007.
Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions have emerged as one of the “hot topics” related to air quality in the United States . Regulations such as California's AB-32 and regional GHG initiatives like the Western Regional Climate Action Initiative and the Eastern Climate Registry have recently garnered a great deal of industry attention. The petroleum refining sector will be impacted by these new regulations and initiatives, as well as those still to come. Therefore, many oil companies are addressing the impending GHG issues ahead of the curve. In addition to Trihydro and URS, industry peers from Marathon Oil Corporation and Sunoco, Inc. will share their case studies related to their company's GHG inventory development. The topics covered in this workshop will be:
- The status of the current GHG initiatives from the regulatory, regional, state, and voluntary levels, including the development of the “Refinery Protocol” in California
- Usable “take-away” information that can be used in developing their own credible GHG inventories
- Refinery case studies from industry peers, focused on inventory development, the “business case”, and realizing GHG reductions through efficiency improvements
