Representative Projects: Federal
Client: San Isabel National Forest Service
Location: Leadville, Colorado
Project Overview: Trihydro performed a wastewater treatment study for the National Forest Service on the east end of Turquoise Lake in the Colorado Rockies near Leadville, Colorado. The system was comprised of a sewerage system for a recreational area with day use, overnight camping, and boat ramps.
The project involved assessing the existing system condition and expected remaining service life of the infrastructure connected to the system. This included public restroom facilities, five miles of 6 inch and 8 inch Vitrified Clay Pipe mains, a sewage treatment plant, and a polishing pond. After the assessment was completed, alternatives for simplifying the treatment process, extending the life of the collection system, reduction of maintenance cost, and liabilities were identified.
Alternatives for short- and long-term needs were developed and are presently being considered. The treatment system, while capable of accepting and treating between 80,000 and 90,000 gallons per day, was originally oversized for the typical 3,000 to 4,000 gallons per day and a maximum of approximately 25,000 gallons for peak days.
Client: F.E. Warren Air Force Base
Location: Cheyenne, Wyoming
Project Overview: Currently, Trihydro has several ongoing projects at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne. These projects include construction oversight and
engineering support for the Zone B Groundwater Remediation System, operation and maintenance of the Zone B Groundwater
Remediation System, landfill inspection, landfill methane and gas vent monitoring, and air compliance permitting.
The selected remedy for the Zone B Groundwater Remediation Project includes a groundwater extraction and treatment system to remove
and treat existing groundwater contaminated with TCE from former landfill 5b (LF5b).Trihydro's responsibilities under this project include construction quality assurance, site work, electrical and building and equipment contractor management, health and safety monitoring, field documentation, construction closeout inspections and reporting, and preparation of project as-builts.
In addition to the construction of the Zone B Remediation System,
Trihydro also is performing routine Operation and Maintenance on the system. The O&M requires Trihydro personnel to be onsite
on a weekly basis conducting preventative maintenance on remediation equipment, weekly data collection, performance sampling, and
fluid level monitoring. Trihydro also is responsible for preparing the initial quarterly monitoring report for the Zone B Groundwater
Remediation System.
Trihydro also conducts Long Term Monitoring (LTM) and maintenance activities associated with Landfill No. 6, Waste-Co Location Area, and
Spill Site No. 7 at the F. E. Warren AFB. The LTM work is conducted under a subcontract and includes site inspections, landfill
cover inspections, and methane monitoring at the three sites referenced above. Trihydro personnel are on-site quarterly to complete
these LTM activities.
Additionally, Trihydro was recently awarded a contract as a subcontractor to provide air emission inventory and air permitting support at F. E. Warren AFB. Trihydro's expertise for this project involves inventorying actual and potential emissions data for
regulated pollutants at all stationary sources at F.E. Warren AFB. An annual emission inventory report will then be prepared. In addition,
Trihydro will coordinate negotiations with the appropriate regulatory agency for any required permitting actions.
