The 2018/2019 reporting period is already off to a strong start. New committee leaders and members are
revitalizing the committee and its commitment to corporate social responsibility. As Trihydro wins new
project work in the government sector, formalizing the Sustainability Program has become a priority, and
the committee will be developing a formal Sustainability Program Policy. Strategic employee hires will
allow Trihydro the opportunity to pursue ISO 14001 certifications, and choose a corporate rating system (e.g.
BCorps, CDP) for its sustainability program. Internally, Earth Day events and Office Recycling Campaigns
have been a huge success, in addition to efforts for reinvigorating the internal Sustainability Blog.

        Technical Leadership Program

The Trihydro Technical Leadership Program (TLP) incorporates several of the principles of sustainability into
the programming. The TLP serves as a forum for discussion of innovative ideas, including sustainable ideas.
           • Presentations are given regarding the use of “green” technological approaches, including passive
remediation strategies, alternate energy sources to power remediation systems, and calculating the

              carbon footprint of projects.
           • One initiative within the TLP known as “Trihydro University” provides employees with college-level
courses on fundamental subjects relevant to our line of work. The ability to offer this training locally

and via internet reduces the amount of travel required for staff to attend professional training.
           • Trihydro has a track record of teaming with local universities on project implementation as well as
technical brownbag presentations, which provides our employees the opportunity to deploy state-of-
the-art approaches to our client’s sites.
           • Through the TLP, Trihydro is tracking the development of the science for emerging contaminants,

which are constituents that are not yet regulated but that may soon require regulation due to
concerns about impacts to human health or the environment. We share information on emerging
contaminants both internally and externally through the TLP and through conferences and social

media. Tracking these compounds helps Trihydro employees stay ahead of the constantly changing
              regulations that protect our environment.
