LOOKING FORWARD
Recommendations resulting from the waste
audit include:
• Increase education and outreach messages
to ensure proper recycling and waste
diversion
• Analyze waste and recycling process to
potentially improve collection strategies
and encourage more diversion
EVENT RECYCLING
For the last 6 years, Trihydro has been helping
local organizations incorporate recycling into
their events and programs. When feasible,
Trihydro staff work with event organizers to
set-up recycling canisters to collect recyclable
materials. And when the event is over, the
collected materials are taken to local recycling
centers. Throughout the years, we have
supported the recycling efforts at various
running and biking races, charity walks, soccer
tournaments, rodeos, and client-sponsored golf
and fishing tournaments.
In the summer of 2015, Trihydro invited our
400 plus employees and their families from around the nation to Laramie for our 30th anniversary celebration
during Laramie Jubilee Days. For the festivities, Trihydro provided dozens of recycling bins that were used throughout
company and community events, such as the Jubilee Days parade and PRCA Rodeo, 5k Fun Run, and Trihydro’s 30th
Anniversary Party.
COMPOSTING PROGRAM AT THE CINCINNATI OFFICE
The Cincinnati office has recently implemented a measure to keep food waste, paper waste, and cardboard material
out of landfills by composting them all together using worms. Traditional composting uses naturally-occurring
bacteria to break down the waste. The process implemented in Cincinnati uses the common red worm (Eisenia
foetida) to process the waste using a store-bought “worm factory” (Worm Factory 360). This process is odorless and
can be operated indoors thus allowing year-around operation in cold climates. The first batch of compost should be
ready in May 2016.
