SDX®

SDX offers a secure interface for submitting and querying connected and autonomous vehicle (CAV) messages.

• API tokens manage authentication for all deposits and queries
• SCMS certificates support authenticated messaging for CAV message submissions
• Message deposits are restricted to verified Infrastructure Owner Operator (IOO) users

SDX helps maintain message trustworthiness by enforcing geographic and source-based restrictions.

• IOO users are authorized to push messages only within defined geographic boundaries
• Only trusted sources are permitted to submit data to SDX

As a third-party messaging repository, SDX enables consistent retrieval of accurate roadway and traveler information by external systems. Current supported message types include Traveler Information Messages (TIMs), Work Zone Data Exchange (WZDx) messages, Connected Work Zone (CWZ) messages, and Roadside Safety Messages (RSMs).

The SDX Command Center is a real-time monitoring and visualization tool designed to support the review and exchange of active traveler information messages (TIMs), advisories, and road events among Infrastructure Owner Operators (IOOs). The dashboard features an interactive map that displays current events across the network, supporting rapid situational awareness and operational coordination. Key capabilities include:

• Supports center-to-center data formats, including the next-generation Traffic Management Data Dictionary (ngTMDD)
• Real-time visualization of active events through an interactive map interface
