P. 2
LETTER FROM JACK
Sustainability is all around us. You read about it in one form or fashion in the
news just about every day…big companies, governments, and organizations
doing things to advance social and environmental responsibility. So what
can an individual or even a company of 400-plus do to have any real impact
on sustainability? Much like our safety culture, we believe that in order to be
successful, initiatives that aim to cause fundamental change, need momentum
and support not only from the top down, as well as the bottom up. It will take
all of us pulling together to widely establish a culture of sustainability in how
we live, how we work, and how we conduct business.
For over 30 years, we have been assisting many of our clients with cleaning
up and restoring their sites for new beneficial uses. In 2015, Trihydro
commissioned a new 27 kilowatt solar photovoltaic system at our corporate
headquarters and continued on our “Zero Waste Journey”. Sustainability is
and has always been part of our business model, but we recognize we have a
long way to go. We are committed and will continue to look for opportunities
to incorporate more or improved sustainable practices into our operations
– managing our risks and waste, conserving water and energy, developing
employees, bettering our communities, and providing sustainability-based
solutions to our clients.
We encourage everyone to strive for a culture of sustainability at home and
at work with the goal of achieving balance between industry, people, and the
environment and aligning with my 11th principal in the Code of the West, East,
North and South…“Leave it better than you found it”.
Remember, working safely is part of our sustainability, so be safe. Enjoy this
report and we welcome your comments and suggestions.
