SOLAR PANELS

A major recent initiative and investment was the installation of a 27kW grid-
tied solar energy system at our 1252 Commerce Drive Headquarters building.
This 96-panel system was projected to offset about 12% of our annual
electricity consumption and thus far is performing better than expected.

The system was brought online 6/14/15, and as of 12/31/15 had generated
24,256kwh. Compared to our 2013-2014 two-year electrical power
consumption average, 2015 savings for the first six full months (Jul – Dec)
since the system came online have amounted to about $1,600. While the
system pay-back period will be longer than in some states given Wyoming’s
low power prices, it was improved thanks to the 30% Federal Investment
Tax Credit and a grant we received from the US Department of Agriculture’s
Rural Energy Assistance Program. We are projecting that the net-to Trihydro
system installation cost will be paid off via avoided power and reduced peak
usage charges within 10-12 years, and that the company will enjoy reduced
power bills for decades thereafter.

In addition, the system is readily visible from the main building parking lot
and presents a visual demonstration to Trihydro’s employees, clients, and
visitors of our commitment to sustainability.
