Construction Stormwater Management

Trihydro provides comprehensive construction stormwater management services designed to protect water resources and maintain regulatory compliance with the Clean Water Act (CWA) and its National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) stormwater program. We help construction projects develop Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) and implement effective Best Management Practices (BMPs) to minimize runoff and reduce pollution throughout the project lifecycle.

Our services support key project phases, including planning, pre-construction surveys, permitting, engineering design, inspections, long-term maintenance, and final stabilization. We incorporate sustainable, low-impact development (LID) solutions—such as infiltration basins—to reduce runoff and promote groundwater recharge, aligning stormwater strategies with both environmental goals and broader project objectives.

Construction activities often alter natural hydrology by increasing impervious surfaces. To address these impacts, we apply tools such as the Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE) for post-construction water balance assessments and erosion control planning. For sites with impaired receiving waters, we recommend targeted BMPs to effectively manage pollutants and meet Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) requirements. Our team also provides ongoing monitoring and reporting to ensure continued NPDES compliance.

Industrial and Municipal Stormwater Management

Industrial facilities and municipal sites may encounter complex stormwater challenges and are often subject to stormwater compliance requirements under the Clean Water Act and applicable National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permits. Those permits typically include sector-specific benchmarks or action levels, monitoring and reporting requirements, and defined corrective actions when exceedances occur.

Trihydro’s multidisciplinary team provides comprehensive industrial and municipal stormwater management services to support facility owners and municipalities in meeting federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Our team includes experienced stormwater compliance specialists who support the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of Best Management Practices (BMPs) across a wide range of industrial and municipal sectors.

Our services are structured to support both routine permit compliance and targeted regulatory response needs, with an emphasis on practical implementation and defensible documentation. Services include:

  • Industrial SWPPP development, review, updates, reporting, training, and implementation
  • Municipal runoff quality assessments, ordinance development, BMP planning, and public outreach initiatives to foster community engagement

Emergency Response Stormwater Management

Disasters such as wildfires, floods, and severe storms can rapidly degrade water quality and destabilize landscapes. Trihydro provides rapid-response stormwater services to support emergency recovery efforts while minimizing environmental impact.

Our team combines technical expertise, field responsiveness, and regulatory insight to act quickly during post-emergency situations. Our experience includes managing high-pressure conditions involving multiple stakeholders, steep or unstable terrain, and sensitive environmental areas. Trihydro offers practical, scalable solutions that support immediate recovery and long-term watershed resilience. Our services include:

  • Stormwater quality protection and monitoring
  • Watershed-scale risk assessments
  • Burn scar severity analysis
  • Erosion control design and implementation
  • BMP deployment
  • Hazardous material assessment, abatement, and disposal
