What initially attracted you to Trihydro?
I fell in love with Laramie while going to school here and it was my goal to work in a community that had similar values.  It was perfect that Trihydro was in the location I wanted and fit my values of doing environmental work and having a variety of projects to work on.

What do you like best about working at Trihydro? 

I love the family feel that Trihydro provides to its employees. I look forward to hanging out with coworkers outside of work and going to work events because of the family I’ve developed through the office.

What is your favorite type of project to work on and why?
I really enjoy getting to see a project through from start to finish (from writing the proposal, getting to do the fieldwork, and then submitting the final report). All of the projects that I have worked on have an environmental component. I’ve worked on projects that provide cleaner air from facilities and other projects that clean and treat water.

What did you want to be when you grew up?
Originally, I wanted to be a Rockette dancer—my height never panned out so I had to switch to a more realistic goal. 

When did you know you wanted to be an engineer – how did your passion for your career start?
I got really involved in Engineers Without Borders (EWB) in college which gave me insight into the amount of communities around the world that didn’t have access to clean water.  Engineering is a perfect fit where I am able to help the environment and use my brain daily.

What is a fun fact about you?
I played violin from 5th grade through high school.  I also use to be a competitive dancer and spent my weekends and summers all over the place. My favorite experience was getting to spend time at a week-long intensive in New York with the performance team. 

How has the mentoring program benefited you as mentor/protégé/or both?
I think the mentoring program has benefited me by allowing me to be more confident about myself and what I bring to the table. My mentor has encouraged me to speak up more and to be comfortable talking with project managers which in turn has helped me have more opportunities and growth within the company.

What other Trihydro benefits/programs do you find most useful or utilize the most?
I attend the brown bag training lunches whenever they are scheduled. It’s a great way to learn about all of the diverse services and opportunities Trihydro has to offer.
