Surveying is a fundamental service with a long and proud history. Rooted in the need to establish accurate boundaries, provide accurate maps, and allow precise control for construction activities, survey methods and technology continue to evolve and improve. The art of surveying began with using simple geometry techniques, then advanced with the development of the compass, and evolved into today’s satellite constellation that provides GPS real-time coordinates. Surveying and mapping remain dynamic and essential to engineering, design, and permitting; today’s services include developing technologies like scanning and unmanned aerial systems (UAS).

UAS Program Aerial Mapping

UAS Program: Aerial Mapping

Trihydro also has a UAS program using Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 107 certified pilots for aerial mapping. We started our UAS program seven years ago after recognizing UAS technology would rapidly advance, becoming the preferred method to collect aerial topographic data for small-to-medium-sized projects. We were one of the first companies in the United States to apply for and receive a 333 exemption to provide commercial UAS services, and our experience over the last seven years allows us to efficiently map a project and apply effective quality control (QC) methods for accurate aerial mapping. Using a propriety workflow process, Trihydro routinely achieves average accuracies of 0.2 feet from photogrammetric data.

MAPPING

Mapping, or cartography, is a core Trihydro capability that goes hand-in-hand with surveying. We produce thousands of figures for hundreds of reports each year. Our highly trained staff use standard symbol libraries and follow industry-standard cartography best practices to create engaging cartographic products.

Trihydro has provided exceptional surveying services on the Glade Reservoir project. Being a local team member they are able to provide timely and responsive visits to the site, which adds value by keeping the project moving forward efficiently. Additionally, they provide high quality work products with detailed descriptions of their completed tasks to make sure everything is clearly understood. I would highly recommend working with Trihydro based on their work completed to date on this important project.
